I was response to the post above. The post was saying depends on if you declared. That does not make sense. That is, if you declared you have more than $10,000 when you enter to USA, nobody can take your money away.

How much did you declare when you enter? You may only responsible for the portion you did not declare. The most you get is losing that money. You are not US citizen, nothing else can happen to you. They have to return the part you did not declare back to you.
