Divorces or not

My friend's hu*****and is very talent people, but had very bad temper, each time they argue ens up to beat his wife. And he keep his wife home take care the kids, never allow her go out to have any kide of skill or get higher degree.
So she had to depend his hu*****and to live. They have two kids. I encorage her to divorce, but how can she live without any income? where to live?
