If it is not "at - fault" accident in CA , the other party should cover the expenses to fix your car also pick up your rental car bill while ur car is in the garage. and it will be on your DMV record showing as "not at fault" accident so your insurance premium won't go up in the future. not sure about ur state, consult ur insurance agent if you have one or call ur insurance company to find out.
