I-94 card & H-1B problems, please help

I am a H-1B holder, H-1B status expires on March, 25 2008
(attached I-94 card will expire on the same day).
Last year in June I went back to China, got I-94
card expired on Sept., 2007 after renewing my visa stamp
(but I did not noticed it until now).
The other days International Office would submit
my H-1B extension application, and found this new I-94 card
expired on Sept., 2007, and they said the University
should sent me out of airport.
Any one has any suggestions on it? Many thanks in advance,
