求救，roommate 不付房租

向各位请教一个问题。刚到一个大城市作博后，为了省钱，找了一个人做roommate。但是我前天打电话该management office ，他们说这个月的balance is $711 ，也就是roommate 没有付他那一半的房租。在月初的时候，他说他没时间和我一起去付房租，会自己去交check 。我催然觉得不对，但也没办法。现在问题是我们两个人名字都在lease上，management office 说下个星期一，会给我们eviction notice 。。我现在是不是只能帮他付那一半房租呢？如果受到了eviction notice ，被赶出去，对我的credit 会有影响吗？会有 criminal record ？

心里很烦，请大家给个建议。谢谢
