1. you are exempted from working overtime. that means you are legally not required to work overtime, but you think you can just say "no" if your boss wants you to work for some extra hours? probably not.

2. you are not paid for overtime work.

So compare with hourly pay, exempt sucks, if the position/job is the same. if you can make the choice definitely choose hourly pay
