sounds like it's more related to your work. so, it's a "NO", emails does not matter if your business really wants it under company IP portfolio. forget it for now, or you may have to leave your work now to open your own, even that you will have to prove it's not done while with your old job there. just my 2 cents. remember, while employed, your "thoughts" belongs to your company :(
