红灯右转被拍照

在加州。本来想赶在黄灯右转，不料在靠进人行道时灯变红了。没有完全停下来就完成了右转。现在还不知道要罚多少？要记点吗？

开车８年，从没有吃过罚单。这此就自认倒霉。可心里还是有些不服。因为这必竟不是直闯红灯，不是故意闯红灯，而且也是安全的（车不多，接下来就是垂直方向的车辆左转，不会到我这个角来）。

我要不要上法庭去辨护呢？怎样才能减轻惩罚？多谢指教。
