Re-entry to US from Canada

Dear All,

I switched to a H1-B status from F-1 about one year ago. During this period, I have NEVER been abroad nor have I obtained a H1-B stamp. Recently I need to visit Canada. Based on the 30 day exemption rule, could I come back to the States without even having a H1-B stamp?
