Your 401K & rollover IRA accounts, your spouse's 401K & rollover IRA accounts, that's already 4 accounts. Beside these retirement accounts, you may have one or two regular stock trading accounts, maybe several more mutual funds, and one or two bank accounts. If you participate in the ESPP programs, your employer may ask you open another account with a new brokerage house. When you change jobs, more accounts will be opened at different brokerage houses. If you haven't feel that way, one day you'll realize that it's a problem.
