I went to this dental office four times. Each time, when I began the treatment, the dental office gave me the proposed treatment plan telling me the dental work and proposed charge. So I know exactly what is my copayment. The first time,I was asked to sign the paper and paid $330, the insurance paid $650.The paper stated I REQUEST AND AUTHORIZE THE DENTIS OR QUALIFIED ASSIGNEE TO PERFORM THE WORK DECCRIBED ABOVE. The second time, I paid nothing, the insurnace paid $105. The third time, I paid nothing, the insurance paid $35. In these two times, they also gave me the same paper but didn't ask me to sign. I guess because I have no copayment. But,I know exactly what insurance pay on the paper. Yesterday was the last treatment, I was surprised that I was given no treatment plan paper. I didn't pay attention as the procedure was as same as the second and third time to do simple filling. So I assume the charge will be same as previous two work: no copayment. But, the dentist plays the dirty trick. He knows that I can afford any dental charge financially. When I was finished, they gave me the bill $420. I disputed with the charge that they should let me know first. They claim I had to pay because the filling is on the posterior teeth which was diffirent from front teeth. Now, I know why they didn't give me the treatment paper and tell me the price at first. Since I was not given a paper, I didn't sign the paper to authorize them to perform the work. I know it is illegal to perform any treatment without patient written consent. Can I get my money back from the dishonest dentist? In the office, I had to pay my credit card. Otherwise, they wouldn't let me go. It was really outragous.
