How to sue / complain my doctor?

My doctor didn't inform me side effects of a treatment. Well there are some studies in peer-review papers showing potentially it cause some excess increase in cancers in the long run. There is no damage done, however, I really worry about it what if it happens a few years later. If I want to complain it, what I do will be considerred properly here or how I should do it. Thanks for your inputs.
