Stay calm first. Are you sure your hu*****and was charged with a felony? Or is it a misdemeanor? It seems there was a miscommunication when things happened.

You definitely need a criminal-law attorney to handle this situation. If you don't have a green card, or a green card holder, tell the lawyer. Some charges will get your hu*****and deported. So ask the lawyer to consult an immigration lawyer if it is necessary.
