询问持美国绿卡到友好国签证事宜

我现在持有美国绿卡，中国护照。请问我可以到加拿大，日本，欧洲之类的地方而不需要获得当地的签证么？？
我哥哥在日本留学，我想去看他，我是否可以直接拿绿卡和中国护照买飞机票直接飞过去呢？？？还需要去签证么？
谢谢各位大侠帮忙解答一下。PS，我在美国加州。
