求助：遇到英国骗子了，有办法弥补么？

前阵子隔壁屋子出租，一英国人联系我，说想租我的房子，然后给我寄了一张大额支票，叫我扣除房租押金然后把剩余的钱通过西联寄回去。我拿了支票去了美国银行，银行给我兑现了，现在钱也寄回去了，银行告诉我说支票退票了，我得把这大概$3600的钱补上。

看了论坛才知道我不是第一个了，我自己也不抱什么希望说钱能找回来了，多半教学费了，可是心里还是不甘心，想问问有没有能弥补的方法啊？报警有用么？我一穷学生，$3600等于要了我命啊。。唉。。求助了。
