Two traffic tickets by a Buffalo police officer

Jan 27, 2007, I drove a rental car (from AVIS) on I90-S after I passing lewingston bridge Customs. When I got out at exit 23. I found a police car with flashing light at the back of my car. I thought he might go somewhere else for his task. Therefore I drove my car to left side of the road. However, he was following to left side of the road. Ok, I thought he also want to turn right at next traffic light. When I was wondering what I should to do, he caught me and let me stop immediately. I followed his order. Then he told me I was speeding on I90-S and asked why I did not stop because he already followed me so long time. I told him, first, I did not know I was speeding, and secondly, I did not know he was stopping me because I never have been stopped by a police officer. Finally, he gave me two tickets, one is speeding in zone, another is I did not follow to stop. I was very upset. I just drove I90-S about 6 kilometers. If I was speeding, it is very short time to pass another car (79 miles/h compared to 65 mils/h). I already sent back these two tickets to Town Court and plea of not guilty. I don't know what will happen. Because I am Canadian citizen, it will affect my insurance in Canada? Thank your suggestions.
