Help with "1099-MISC"

Jan-Aug F1/OPT
Sept-Dec H1

In Jan 06, I did some statistical analysis for my University Hospital. They said they can pay me by check. Since I was working full time at one of the college at that time, I asked the International Office if I can take the money, and they said yes.

Last week, I got a 1099-MISC from the hospital. Just googled "1099-MISC" and found out that I need to file "Schedule C or C-EZ" and "Schedule SE", which are for self-employed. Will this get me into any trouble?
