问题请教

In China, when you get married the second time, the divorced certificate of your first marriage need to be handed in and kept by the officer who gave you the new marriage certificate? A friend of mine couldn't find her certificate and she cannot remember if it is she get lost or took away by the office who gave her the new marriage certificate.
