pls help on tax mistake!!!

I made a mistake in federal tax return for Year 2000 and 2001: I forgot to deduct the state tax from the total incode when filing federal tax return. Is it too late to file correction to get my money back? If not late, which form(s) to use? and how to take the state tax into the calculation(just to deduct the state tax from the total income to get federal?)?
