您應該先考慮要求學校幫助您們換到另外一個地方同時負擔您們實際的損失 (床墊於床的價格)，如果學校拒絕您再考慮提出訴訟，一個很有名的案例是
Mathias v. Accor Economy Lodging, Inc., Id., involved a bed bug infested Motel 6 in the Chicago area. A jury returned a compensatory damage award of $5,000 and a punitive damage award of $186,000 because Defendants rented a motel room to Plaintiffs knowing that the room was infested with bed bugs and giving no warning to Plaintiffs of the risk of harm they were facing

所以這其中的關鍵就在於學校知不知道這個房間有臭虫，這個問題的答覆在於前任的住客，如果他老兄也被咬得很慘不得不逃走，那您或許有門可以求到賠償。
