我该把狗还给她吗？我的宝贝狗是2年前在后院拣到的，当时是几个teena

抱着狗，我以为是他们中的一个的，可是狗看起来很害怕发抖，他们说狗也不是他们的，我让他们把狗放下，它就跑进屋子，我给它一点牛奶，然后就打电话给警察局。（那时候不知道还要animal shelter）我给接电话的officer 我的联系方式，以方便失主联系，就这样狗狗暂时留在我家，随着时间的推移，我越来越喜欢我的狗了，天天都期望不要有任何人来找我，这样过了3个月，正好是年底，我就去township 注册了。这2年来我象对待我的孩子一样疼爱它，现在我知道它原来的owner了，我要不要把狗还给她？不还给她，我觉得我象贼一样，一想到她丢狗的心情，一定也和我现在一样难过。如果还给她。。。这2年来我对狗狗付出的感情也不是用言语可以描述的。。。
我该怎么办？麻烦大家给我一些建议。
