You will have two alternatives:

1: file a motion to explain the situation and present evidence that you actually tried to find a job, but because the employment situation in your field, you did not find a job. You can also present evidence you did volunteer work without pay.

2. get out the country and get in again as a F2 if your spouse is still here in valid F1. Even you over stayed in the US, as long as it is not more than 180 days, you can still get in without any punishment.
