I was caught in LA airport checkpoint with a fruit knife in my carryon bag. The blade may be a little over 4 inches. I just totally forgot about it. The police was called and they got all my personal infomation, including SSN, employor, address... Then they said I can leave. According to them, the possible consequences might be a fine or pressing a charge against me.
I did some research on-line myself. Looks like I most likly to get a fine. But I am concerned that this record will delay or backset my Green Card case, because all these kind of records will be stored in a Home Land Sucurity database forever. Will this be a big problem when I am doing the I-485 name check?
Also, Should I consult a lawyer now or just wait for the mail? I saw some unlucky guys were charged on this matter.
Please advise me. I am terrified. Thanks a bunch!
