Since you are here on Y97,

start Y2002, you are resident alien for tax purpose, you can use 1040, 1040A or 1040EZ and claim standard deduction and other credit just like citizen or RA did. You can claim tax treaty if you still qualify the condition under Article 20 (read IRS pub 901), but you can not claim Standard deduction if you claim tax treaty when you are RA, you need make choice between treaty (normally $5000) or STD Deduction ($4750 single, $9500 married file jointly) base on your status.
