It's on Tax-exempt interest. The instruction says "Includes any exempt-interest dividends from a mutual fund or other regulated investment company". My question is: I have a 403(b) account, and I had no any transactions last year but direct deposits into the account, and the account was managed by such an investment company that purchased several mutual funds and earned some dividends and capital gains for me for last year. I only got a Year-End Statement as tax document. I think I should report the amount of interests I earned through that company onto Line 8b of Form 1040, as it's tax-exempt. However, I don't know if I should also attach a copy of my Year-End Statement to 1040.
Any suggestions? Thanks a lot!
