Hi,
I am on H1 and usually file return as resident alient since I have be in US more than 6 years (F1->H1), married joint return. My daughter (age 12) came to US late June, 2005 as H4. She doesn't have an SSN. For 2005 she has been in US for more than 183 days. She live with me and I provide all living cost.
For 2005 tax return, can I claim an exemption for her? Any possibility for child tax credit? If so what is the procedure? File W-7 with 1040 to get her an ITIN?
Your idea is very much appreciated. Thanks.
