My company agreed to sponsor me with green card when I was hired 4 years ago and asked me to sign a promisery note. Basicaly it says that I can't leave the company in the process of the green card, otherwise I will need to pay back all their expenses plus interest. But after 4 years, my case is still in LC stage with no news. I recently got married with a citizen and got my green card. I told the legal dept about this and asked them if I remain liable for anything. They said since they never had this kind of circumstances before, and it's not stated in the promisery note that I signed, they are still doing research, and kept me waiting for 3 three month so far without any definite answer. Does any expert know in this case if I should pay them anything or if I have right to take anything legal action if they keeps igoring my question or I can just quit the job if I find a better one without paying anything?
Thank you.
