What else can you do?

You have two choices:

1. Sue the guy for conversion under tort. Courts differ on whether they should treat intangible goods such as money as property so that conversion applies. You need consult a lawyer in your jurisdiction to determine.
2. Sue the guy breaching of contract under equity law.

In equity court, you can ask for specific performance in court, which is, forcefully get restitution from the guy.
