there is one case analysis about taxation law as following:
peter is a farmer with 15 hectares of land on which he has grown oranges since 1960. he inherited the land from his father in the year. the farm has gradually been surrounded by urban development and in June 1995 following complaints from the nerbours about pesticides, he decidesto sell the land. in july 1995 he contracted with a cousulting engineer and surveyor who prepared a subdivision plan and who applied to the local council for rezoning. the taxpayer was not directly involved in the plan or the rezoning which was granted by the council in September 1997. Nearly all expenses were paied by peter though he had to borrow $10,000 to cover some incidental expenses. following development the land went on sale in May 1996 and 10 blocks were sold by 30 June 1998 for $50,000 each. for year ended 30 June 1999 another 20 blocks were sold for $50,000 each. for year ended 30 June 2000 another 20 blocks were sold for $60,000 each.
And if i will advise peter as to his tax liability if any for the relevant years.
how can i analysis it ,could you give me some advice.
