i am not in Canada,so, i might not be able to say much on this issue. but in u.s., i would be damned if he can use his connection in court to win the case. if he has his attorney to do this, i.e. trying to influence the judge, it's a violation of rule of PR. you can always haul his butt to the bar. he might mean that he's been in court lots of times and knew the procedure well. the bottomline is that this is not in china --there are rules and law here--knowing somebody does not mean you own the world. i think that he is bluffing. honestly, i'll stick the words back to the s.o.b.'s face if i were you (please forgive my language.)
