ITIN is for people who has no GC but need ID to open bank account. ( 您的钱他们还是要的）

Claiming one dependent can only save max $1000 on tax, this is small potato for IRS to spend their time on when there are still so many large corporations out there to go after, make sense.

But as IRS, INS linking their databse, this is very easy to identify. I already know people got caught and got fined on the dependent matter.

I just tell you what the laws says, what to do is really your business. I always believe people should know the law before they decide what risk to take.
