I disagree

"保险本来就应该是cover现在的family member的.这在美国是天经地义的理由!". It is wrong. I saw people buy extra insurance for their old parents because their parents are not their family member (they are extended family member and the employer's insurance won't cover). So their childern bought insurance from some company which is different from their own insurance. SO you should change your sentence to "EMployer's 保险本来就应该是cover现在的family member的", I don't think you are right about they can stop it at any time they want also. If so, they won't want to hire a lawyer to overturn it. Just consulting a lawyer for hald a hour may not cost much but that will NOT help them to overturn the divorce agreement. If they want to overturn it, it is going cost them big, if there are somebody want to accept their case because I doubt on it. ANd you forgot what bothers them most, it is not to buy another insurance for his ex, but how to deal with the bills if their insurance company found out they divorce three years ago.
