我的情况是这样，两个多月前，因为工作突然变动，我不得不从某地apartment搬出，apartment的政策是协议一年一年的签，如果不满一年要搬出，需要提前2个月通知。工作变动的事情，谁也不可能提前知道，我只好搬出交了钥匙。
随后，留下了新的联络地址让apartment把帐单寄来。过了一个月，帐单寄来了，并要求我在一个月内把所有费用交清，否则让催债公司来收，并多33%的费用。让我付两个月的房费，另外还有一笔insuffient notice fee, 700多美元。我说没听说什么insuffient notice fee。所以我写了一张check把两个月的房租付了，在memo上写上final full claim。
没想到apartment把我两个月房租收下，又给了一封信，说钱没付足。我就给aptartment发了个email问一下insufficient notice fee的事情，并让他们把lease aggrement寄来。结果我发现里面的确有那么一句模糊的说法：If you fail to provide proper notice and vacate, you will be responsible for an additional month's rent and other sums due.
我这人怕麻烦，心想我认了，那么忙懒得争执。当时就给apartment manager发了email,说我出门在外，下星期就把insufficient notice fee汇过去。实际上上个星期一就把check寄过去了。然而跟踪银行帐号的结果，他们一直没有兑现。所以晚饭时还给apartment manager发了一个email,问check 收到没有？但是发了email后在整理今天邮件时发现今天收到了一封collection agency的信，
