Your state or county department of transportation website is the most likely place to look for speed limit information on a particular street. 

If you go to court, you don't need to spend time on whatever was said betweeen you and the cop, just focus on data written down on the traffic ticket.  The officer could have accused you of murder, but if he didn't write it on the ticket, you don't have to defend it.
