请教

单位的opening enrollment 刚刚结束，突然很想留个遗嘱啥的，要么等明年，要么在外面请律师。我问了一下，大概要花$1000-1500，或者更多。

不知道能否自己写一个财产分配，然后到银行办理公证？这种有木有法律效应呢？
