A person holding and in possession of real property as joint tenant or tenant in common, （和别人共同拥有房产的人） in which has an estate of inheritance, （要么是继承得来）for life, （要么是有生之年拥有）or for years, （拥有权限于年数）may maintain an action for the partition of the property, (可以要求和其他共有房主分拆地产）  and for a sale if it appears that a partition cannot be made without great prejudice to the owners." （如果无法在避免很大伤害的前提下分拆，可以要求买）。

就是说，几个人继承了爸妈一份地产，其中任何人可以要求把地产分成几小份（比如一个农场），如果无法分拆（比如一个居民屋），任何人可以要求卖出后分钱。
