在校大学生收到家所在地的jury service summons. 如何请求免除？

孩子在外州上大学。今天我家所在州给孩子寄来了 jury service summons. 我模模糊糊记得在外地上学的学生可以免jury service。 但通知上没有这一选项。

让孩子学期中间回来不现实。请问如何申请免除这次的jury service？ 给回信地址写封信，附上学生注册证明？
