Will this cus 2 much trouble

I just closed a new house. However, my current landlord won't let me break the lease unless I pay the rest of the 7 months' rent. No sublease is allowed either. Can I just discard the deposit and leave it? Will it be too much trouble? Honestly, this is the first time I break a lease. Didn't know it's so hard. Feel a bit shame, but the 7 months rent is more than 10k. I don't even have the kind of money after closing.
