better pay tax, because your boss is under illegal siduation, he is intend to report.

use your wife's SSN is ok.

if you wife's income plus your income is low, you and your wife do not need to pay tax, each state has a limites for pay tax, I belive most state is above 20k. and you are your wife's dependent, it is a big deduction.
