some people have to learn the hard way...

Chances are you can't understand what DA is saying, and mistakenly agreed to something you should not have, or the DA can just dismiss you by saying "I don't have time for you, get a lawyer".

You have to really know what you are doing when you approach DA.  

Here is the bottom line, when DA or the judge ask you to seek legal consuel, it's a bad sign indicating what you are doing is way off track, and you'd better stop and get a lawyer. 

Otherwise, good luck with class 1 misdemeanor.
