Lawyers for Ethan Couch, 18, argued that he had no sense of responsibility because of his privileged upbringing, – termed ‘affluenza’ by an expert – in the wake of a June 2013 crash that killed four people and injured several others. An arrest warrant was issued for the teenager earlier this month after he failed to report to his probation officer and officials say he and his mother, Tonya, have been detained in Mexico.
