Too bad, you were tricked. Most of us don't look at the contract carefully on the web when we do online registration. The collection efforts may hurt your credit. If you do not want to pay, you should write a letter disputing the validity of the alleged debt of 100.00. Otherwise, they will "assume" that the debt is valid and (1) keep sending collection letters to bother you and (2) write letters to the credit bureau complaining about the nonpayment, which will hurt your credit rating. Apparently 100.00 dollars is not worth suing you. It is up to you whether to pay or not. But at least you may ask for a list of what books they sent you and you have returned.
