it's unfair to speak ill of all the chinese lawyers based on your single case. There are tons of american crooks barely made their way out of law school as well.

Rule of thumb: ask people you know for references. Ask the lawyer to provide 3-5 references as well. Interview each one of them. Experience and professionalism are the most important qualities you are looking for in an attorney, more than skin color or the school they graduated from.
