This is certainly the most unprofessional advice here. Yep, don't be misled by it.

"If it is criminal..you got to find a good criminal law attorney." That's it? How about explaining the consequences of a criminal assault charge, such as, jail time? Implied consent? There could not have been implied consent if they had already broken up. What kind of a useless argument is that? Of course only the court can determine whether the guy is guilty or not, but what you can do is to stop misleading him.
