Why want to get a laywer for this? First of all if I understand this correctly, it's because some document will be delayed. If that's creating problem for your wife to work legally, then there is nothing wrong with the new female boss to decide to let your wife go.
Besides, why did you think of getting an laywer who is free. Are you willing to work for free? I just don't understand this. If you think your right is being violated, then go ahead to flight for it. But if you want to hire a laywer, you have to pay what's necessary. How comes you want to get all the benefits, but doesn't even want to pay your fair share.
