You should refuse to pay anything they request AFTER you have returned and paid your rental. Don't worry about it unless you signed anything with them admitting you caused the damage.

Enterprise is not a good car-rental company at all. You may consider using Hertz in future. It is a little more expensive but its service is well worth it. Join AAA or Costo if not yet to save while renting from Hertz.
