你需要先看goods的定义是什么 “goods” means all chattels personal, other than things in action and money, and includes emblements, industrial growing crops, and things attached to or forming part of the land that are agreed to be severed before sale or under the contract of sale; (“objets”)

这是黑字白纸的定义，＂PRODUCT＂不是法律用词，所以不要想当然套用。

就历史而言，古代英美加都是用普通法，就是案例法，没有明文规定，就是靠案例定义的原则。后来商品买卖是一个比较特殊的合同范围，国家定了明文的法。但是由于服务合同（包括安装家具，或者帮你理财，或者帮你盖房子）之间相差太大，不象商品买卖一样单一，所以起码美国还是在用普通法案例来管理，没有明文的规定。restatement of law是法律出版界对普通法案例的归纳，一般律师参照一下，但那不是明文规定。
