请教老猫和各位高人, Thanks!

Yesterday, my friend received an unknown message on the
phone. In the message, someone said my friend will have big trouble for
identity theft and property theft. My friend definitely did not do anything
wrong but my friend feels scared and unsafe. What does my friend need to do?
Should my friend report this to the police? How to track down this message from
where or phone number? Thank you so much for your help.
