If her hubby means it, he will track her down even if she moves out - so if she feels that he is really that violent, she should protect herself and other family members.

Or if she thinks he is just 'bluffing' or has a bad mouth, she should not be afraid.  From her post, seems that she is scared of him because of his violent past.
