You should have retained an attorney for the first ticket. Save the driving school option as your get out of jail free card. 

That being said, getting an attorney always helps. Try to negotiate a bargain with the cop to reduce it to a non-moving violation. Since you just had one ticket, a judge may not approve the plea bargain but that is the only option left to try.
